On 12 February, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, JSC NC KazMunayGas and journalists from regional and national media visited the Akshabulak field. A press tour on the issue of liquefied gas production was organised for them.

JV Kazgermunai LLP processes associated petroleum gas from Akshabulak, Nuraly, Aksai fields and natural gas from Aksai Yuzhny field and provides the population of Kyzylorda region with liquefied gas. The subsoil user produces about 70,000 tonnes of liquefied gas per year, but the output is expected to decrease in the coming years.

In order to familiarise themselves with the technological process of liquefied hydrocarbon gas production, the participants of the press tour visited the production facilities of the enterprise:

- gas treatment unit - 1, commissioned in 2005, with a raw gas capacity of 310 mln. m3/year;

- gas treatment unit - 2, commissioned in 2011 and allowing to expand the total capacity of the gas treatment and transportation shop to 550 mln. m3/year for raw gas, to 440 mln. m3/year for marketable gas treatment, to 143 ths. tonnes/year for liquefied hydrocarbon gas production;

- a terminal for storage and loading of liquefied petroleum gas.

Deputy General Director for Production Makhambet Yeleussinov told the guests in detail about the process of production and shipment of liquefied hydrocarbon gases to the domestic market and answered all questions.
