On the 12th of December, 2014 with the participation of Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda oblast Alibayeva Nurjan Nurmagambetovich, General Director of JSC "EP" KazMunaiGas" Nurseitov Abat, the representative of JSC "PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources" Qing Hunvey and General Director Karim Medet Sapievich Aksai field was commissioned.
This project was one of the global projects of JV "KGM" LLP. The structure of Aksai field was identified as early as in the 1980s, during the period from 2000 to 2006 the field was under trial operation. During the period of 2007-2011 the further exploration of gas deposits was carried out and it allowed specifying that Aksai is a gas field with oil rim. In the period from 2012 to 2014, the company carried out activities on developing the field, including: drilling, construction of various facilities and installations necessary for production of hydrocarbons, construction of pipelines and other important infrastructure, that define oil and gas fields.
It is worth noting that the Aksai field oil reserve is much less than Akshabulak and Nuraly fields. However Aksai is a rich gas field and the project for its development will establish gas production of company at the level of 550 million m3 per year and provide a stable natural gas supply for the population of Kyzylorda town. At the moment 5 wells were commissioned in accordance with the 1st stage of field development.
Even under the present conditions of the fall of oil prices in world JV" Kazgermunai " LLP could increase the number of employees from 720 to 742 people due to the commissioning of Aksai field. Reviewing staff schedule and structure of the company, it was decided that 27 employees will work in Aksai field. Thus, the total number of production staff comprises 555 people against 187 employees of the head office and representative offices in the cities of Astana and Almaty.
