Kazgermunai is actively developing gas treatment capacities for the Kyzylorda Region purposes
23 december 2025
During working visit to the Kyzylorda Region, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, NC KazMunayGas JSC - Bekzat Abaiyldanov visited the JV Kazgermunai LLP (KGM) fields, where he was acquainted with the implementation of key production and infrastructure projects important for the Region.
KGM, having an existing infrastructure for the preparation of commercial and liquefied petroleum gases, with the strong support of NC KazMunayGas JSC, carries out connection of third party Subsoil Users to gas treatment plants. The implementation of this project will allow local Companies to resolve the problem of associated petroleum gas utilization without building expensive gas processing plants and will remove restrictions in order to oil production increase. Thus, the field’s development with slightly volume of resources is gaining economically highly- sought.
KazPetrol Group and Tuzkol Munai Gas Operating carry out the supply of crude gas for processing within the frame of contractual obligations at the Nuraly and Akshabulak fields. The crude gas potential volumes supply from mentioned Subsoil Users is about 250 million m3 per year with the production up to 220 million m3 of commercial gas and up to 50 thousand tons of liquefied petroleum gas per year.
B. Abaiyldanov has also presented with modernization plan of gas treatment plants, developed consider the future production growth and crude gas supply. The upgrading of equipment will increase the reliability of compressor units and increase the liquefied gas production up to 20 thousand tons per year. The economic effect will amount up to 2 billion KZT per year at the initial stage.
In general, the project implementation will increase the liquefied and commercial gas production, ensure stable supplies to the Southern Region, including facilities such as the Kyzylorda Combined Heat & Power plant, the Glass manufacturing plant and the Akshabulak Gas Turbine Power plant.
General Director, KGM - Ziyash Kiyakbayev reported that for 11 months of the current year, oil production amounted to almost 832 thousand tons, which is 3.3 thousand tons higher than planned performance indicators.
To maintain the level control of oil production in KGM, the geological and technical measures has implemented, including hydraulic fracturing and conformance control. There are pilot testing of gas-dynamic reservoir fracturing technology, well stimulation as well as squeeze-cementing insulation work activities are being conducted.
Considering high stage of stripped reserves – 88 %, KGM continuously implements additional exploration at the Akshabulak and Nuraly fields, as well as survey for new potentially bearing areas. Reserves has being recalculated based on an additional exploration and obtained new geological data results. The expected recoverable reserves gain is about 450 thousand tons of oil.
KGM has given tasks of improving operational efficiency, conducting high-quality additional exploration at existing fields, and expanding its resource base.
