The environmental tree-planting campaign is being implemented as part of an initiative by KazMunayGas JSC and the national “Taza Kazakhstan” programme, aimed at increasing greening levels and improving the environmental situation in the regions where the company operates.

“JV “Kazgermunai” LLP supported this initiative and began its implementation in collaboration with the akimat of the Syrdarya District in the Kyzylorda Region and the local forestry authority — the Syrdarya State Forestry and Wildlife Protection Department.

Since December 2025, preparatory work has been underway to plant saplings in the district centre, in the village of Terenozek. For this purpose, the akimat has allocated a plot of land covering 1.7 hectares.

The total number of saplings to be planted is 3,640. The species used for planting are adapted to local climatic conditions: poplar, willow, jida, as well as fruit trees.

The project involves a full range of works: soil preparation, planting, installation of fencing, organisation of an irrigation system and subsequent care of the plantings.

The initiative is being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Samruk-Kazyna Groups, with a target of at least five trees per employee. Kazgermunai is considering the possibility of further expanding the greening programme in the region.
