А. Khassenov held a meeting with KMG subsidiaries in Kyzylorda region
26 june 2024
Chairman of the Management Board of KMG Askhat Khassenov during his working trip to Kyzylorda region visited the production facilities of the Turgai paleozoic structure (100% KMG) and JV “Kazgermunai” LLP (a joint venture with participation of KMG).
We recall that on 29 May KazMunaiGas started drilling of the PZ-1 exploration well with a depth of 5,500 m at the Turgai paleozoic structure in the Kyzylorda region. Previously, no drilling of wells with similar depths has been carried out in this region. The project is being implemented by KMG's own efforts and at the expense of KMG's own funds.
Drilling of the exploration well is an important event for the development of the oil and gas industry in the Kyzylorda region, as in recent years there has been a decline in oil production in the region due to natural depletion of reserves.
In turn, KazMunaiGas pays special attention to replenishing the resource base and maintaining a stable level of oil production. If the drilling results are positive, the resource potential of the Kyzylorda region is expected to increase. This will extend the hydrocarbon production shelf, as well as support the economic and social stability of the region.
During the trip, A. Khassenov also held a meeting on production issues of JV “Kazgermunai” LLP. In May 2023, the company started gas production at the Aksai South gas condensate field. Due to the launch of the project Kazgermunai is able to supply up to 100 million cubic metres of gas per year for the needs of the residents of Kyzylorda region.
Kazgermunai is also studying the acquisition of promising areas for geological exploration. A. Khassenov instructed the Company's Management to pay special attention to industrial safety, labour and environmental issues, as well as to ensure measures to achieve the planned production in 2024.
