For the first time in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan the Republican aitys (contest of two akyns) on the oil theme topic took place at Kyzylorda Regional Music and Drama Theater named after Nartai Bekezhanov on October 10. The general sponsor of the event was LLP “JV “Kazgermunai”. The event was participated by the following: Ainur Tursynbayeva, Sara Toktamysova, Bekarys Shoybekov, Serikzat Duysengazin, Nurmat Mansurov, Erzhenis Abdiyev, Abilkhair Syzdykov, Asem Erezhekyzy, Erengaip Kuzembayev, Didar Kamiyev, Aytbay Zhumagulov. On October 8 the excursion to the Akshabulak field was organized for the event participants so that they could receive an extensive idea of the oil and gas industry.
Judges of the event were the following: actor, stage manager of the theater and cinema, script writer and educator Asanali Ashimov, famous performer Elena Abdykalykova, chief editor of the newspaper “Aikyn” Nurtore Zhusip, honoured public figure of the RoK Zhursin Ermanov.

The spectators of the contests were the employees of LLP “JV “Kazgermunai”, veterans of work of the region, citizens and guests of the city. The winners of the contests were awarded with valuable prizes:
1 place, - 2 million tenge
2 place, 2 persons – 1 million tenge for each of them
3 place, 3 persons – 500 000 tenge for each of them
Akim of the region Krymbek Eleuovich Kusherbayev attended the final part of the event.
