The first conference “Model UN” has held among the youth of the Kyzylorda region with financial support of JV Kazgermunai LLP
The history of the conference has established in 1946. In this conference, the participants play the role of the delegates of each country that is a member of the UN. Discusses current problems in the world and propose solutions.
This Model teaches young people to develop the critical thinking skills, develop leadership qualities and become communicative and politically literate.
This conference held for the first time in the Kyzylorda region, attended by Kyzylorda University. The students of Korkyt Ata and Bolashak College, the pupils of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology direction in Kyzylorda, Mansap School, Abay Trilingual School-Lyceum and pupils of school #268, 212, 210 took part in the conference.
At the opening of the conference has attended by Ms. Caroline Savage - US Consul General in Almaty, Kazakhstan who in her preface spoke about the importance of the event and the relevance of the topic raised also expressed her warm wishes to the youth.
40 delegates took part in the conference who presented resolutions on the topic “The economic impact of refugees on countries”. As the result, the participating youth were awarded with valuable gifts and letters of appreciation.
Talgat Mendibay organizer, Chairman of the “Korgau” Public Foundation for Human Rights: “It took 14 years to organize this event. Kelsey Dabrowski - lecturer at Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata, a Fulbright Scholar was inspired to that. We would like to thank the Management of JV Kazgermunai LLP, which provided financial support and has always been a sponsor of new undertakings. During the 2nd year of cooperation with Kazgermunai Young Specialists Council, we organized several intellectual competitions, cultural and charity events. Council Members came to this event, shared their experience with the youth and gave their advices”.
